Strata 3D CX provides a powerful workflow with Illustrator by importing both pdf and eps files. And, by adhering to the Adobe interface standard, this workflow is made even more useful.

With the addition of Strata's Vector plug-in, you can render your 3D scenes as true vector artwork as native Illustrator files. These vector files can be edited and enhanced directly in Illustrator.

Scott Thigpen is a self-taught artist who has achieved world renown for his unique work. Scott has done work for Modern Bride, The Wall Street Journal, The American Bar Association, Snapple, Gillette, Harlequin Romance Novels and The Chicago Bears to name a few.

"Strata 3D CX works like a dream! I was very impressed and am very happy. The other thing that 'totally rocks' is that CX can open Illustrator CS files, which is very important because maintaining different file formats for Illustrator use and 3D use is tedious. I don't think I could EVER get this look by hand. So thanks again."

One of the most common ways of using Illustrator with Strata 3D is to import a 2D logo or other art piece and extrude that element into a 3D object. You can select the type of bevel you want to use or even create a custom bevel. From there you can apply textures such as chrome and render out your final presentation.

Another valuable technique is to use Illustrator to pre-plan your 3D model by creating curved sections that you can then connect in Strata 3D. You can use the Skin modeling tool, the Hull tool or even the PolySpline modeling tools.

With the addition of the Strata 3D Vector plug-in, you can render out your final 3D artwork as 2D vector files which can then be brought back into Illustrator for further editing or integration with other project elements.

Strata 3D CX lets you edit your imported Illustrator art directly in 3D space while using familiar Bezier handles to adjust curves and points. You can even create 3D Bezier surfaces which can still be edited using the familiar handles and points. You'll also find the user interface to be familiar with floating palettes, object selection handles and multiple undos.
