The Statistics (Stats) tab collects, displays and prints information about your model. This includes the number of objects, light sources, spline patches, shapes and polygons.
This information is helpful when you're trying to determine the amount of RAM you need to successfully render the images in your model.
You can also generate a list of all the shape instances you have used in constructing your model, along with accompanying notes you have made using the Object tab of the Object Properties palette. See Chapter 5, Shapes and Groups" for more information.
This palette contains two radio buttons: Model Statistics and View Statistics. If you select Model Statistics, the information collected will be for the entire model. Selecting View Statistics will display information for only the active view.
Click the Collect button to update the data contained on this palette. The information does not continually update.
Click the Save button to save the data as a text (tab delimited) file.
Use the hotkey "i" to summon the Information palette, or select Show Information Palette from the Windows menu To close the palette, use the close button or select Hide Information Palette from the Windows menu.
