Texture Tab Basics

The Textures tab of the Resource palette contains a preview image and a listing in the pop-up menu for each texture in the Textures folder.

The palette has two sections. Only those textures that are actually loaded into your model will appear in the upper section of the palette. Textures from your library appear in the bottom part of the palette. The textures library is a folder located inside the Libraries folder in your Strata 3D folder.

While there are many pre-made textures available in Strata 3D and at 3d.com, you can also create your own textures, or alter existing textures to suit your needs.

If you load texture files from other sources, they will appear on the Textures tab also. When you create a new texture in a model, it immediately appears on the Textures tab.

To expand the palette to include all textures found on disk in the Textures folder, click the Library button.

Textures created or loaded into a model become part of that model. When you save the model, you save its textures as part of the document.

Any texture, or number of textures, can be applied to any object; you decide which textures are suitable for your project.
