Texture Placement

Once you have applied a texture, you can customize its placement on your object using the Textures tab of the Object Properties palette.

The controls affect the texture's placement on just the selected object, not on other objects in your model that have the same texture applied. You can control your texture's coverage, size, mapping, tiling, and mix.

Using the Position button, you can adjust the texture's rotation, scale and position on the object.

NOTE: The UV style of mapping puts the texture onto the object's surface by squeezing and stretching as necessary. So, a UV-mapped texture cannot be rotated, scaled, etc. But you can always change to a different mapping style if you need to; it all depends on the shape of your object and the texture you are using.

If you have more than one texture applied to an object, select the one you want to edit from the list on the Object Properties palette. The selected texture will highlight to show that it is selected.

Once all editing decisions have been made, hit Tab, Return or Enter to execute the changes.

NOTE: If you have more than one texture applied to an object, you will need to decide how those textures should be mixed together. See Mix in Texture Tab - Reference, later in this chapter.
