Strata 3D Vector is a plug-in for Strata 3D CX that exports your images and animations as vector graphics. Vector graphics are used in applications like Adobe Illustrator (AI, EPS) and Macromedia Flash (SWF).
Vector graphics are most commonly used for line art projects. Render a 3D logo, object, or scene to edit in Illustrator. Or render for use in your Flash web projects.

This is so unbelievable to be able to build my simple backgrounds and send them straight into Illustrator. It works like a dream! I was very impressed and am very happy.
The other thing that "totally rocks" is that CX can open Illustrator CS files, which is very important because maintaining different file formats for Illustrator use and 3D use is tediuous.
I wanted to let you know I could NEVER get this look by hand. So thanks again. I'm going to show this to a bunch of my art friends as well (this'll make them drool!)

Macromedia, creators of the Flash player technology, agrees that Strata 3D Vector adds power to the user's toolset:
"It's great to see how well Strata 3D does in exporting .swf files. Taking Strata's rich 3D renderings into vector animations makes for fabulous Flash content.
From our standpoint at Macromedia, it's great to further broaden the appeal of Flash into the Strata Community and with desktop designers, and it makes the Flash format that much stronger as an industry standard."

"Of all its great features, Strata 3D's flash export is my favorite. The resulting animation files are highly efficient in terms of file size. I find if you create a bit of animation for a client it will often win you the work to produce their website.
Animation can be an important part of a web site. The best use of animation on the web is that which gives you more information than static pictures and text can achieve, such as interactive diagrams and product visualization. I see the Flash export feature of Strata being essential in creating these, and also many other applications such as game characters and cartoon animation."

Strata 3D Vector has a number of rendering styles to suit whatever project you're working on. At the basic level, you can choose to fill your objects, outline them, or both.
For "cel-shaded" projects, two color and four color shading can approximate the region coloring commonly used in animation. Area gradients and mesh gradients can increase the realism and polish of a shape, but at the expense of small file sizes. Not all vector Flash projects will be meant for the web, of course, and used with care, even gradient shaded objects could be used in web applciations.
Most shading options are available in Flash, Illustrator and SVG renderings.
