How to play Spider Solitaire
In this article we will see how to play Solitaire Spider. It’s a different but nonetheless interesting take on the classic solitaire that we know. First let's look at the setup of this game, then how a game plays out and what it takes to complete it successfully.
The free solitaire spider online rule:
Spider is played with two traditional 52-card decks, however without the jokers.
We spread 54 cards on 10 columns to form the table (the 4 left columns have 6 cards, and the 6 on the right have 5) and we form a stack with the remaining 50 cards.

The primary goal is to get rid of all cards successfully without getting stuck in a situation where none of the cards can be moved. In the background you can try to get the best score by using a minimum of movements.
You can move a card:
- either on an empty column
- or on a card of immediately higher rank regardless of their color.
A series of cards of the same symbol on a higher rank card, for example: 2-3-4-5-6 hearts on a higher rank 7 card (hearts, diamonds, clubs or spades)
As soon as you have an ace-to-king straight of the same symbol, it is automatically removed from play, so it's very useful to continue the game.
In a situation where none of the cards can be moved, and under the condition that none of the columns is empty, we add a row of cards visible from the heel by clicking on it, until its exhaustion is 5x possible .
During the game, you can also press the [H] key to get advice on moving.
There are 3 difficulty levels:
- Easy with only one type of symbol (spade)
- Intermediate with two types of symbol (heart and spade).
- Difficult with the four types of symbol.
You have the possibility to see the statistics of your previous games for each difficulty level.
Technical advice:
Having empty columns offers many possibilities because it allows you to move troublesome cards and clear the cards you need. So try to have one or two very early on.
You also have the option to go back several. This comes in handy in intermediate or difficult games. The majority of the difficult parts cannot be completed because they are too complex. You can always explore the full range of possibilities with this option.
Try for intermediate and difficult levels not to mix colors as much as possible and to think about the best positions with anticipation.
