What is the Strata 3D University?
The Strata 3D University offers tutorials and learning resources for Strata software products, primarily Design 3D.
Whether you’re an existing Strata Design 3D user, or new to 3D entirely, the Strata 3D University will help you unlock your 3D design potential.
Strata 3D University tutorials begin with the basics and progress through stunning realism, covering the gamut of 3D topics. For Design 3D CX owners and trial downloaders, this ongoing learning resource will lead you down the path to becoming a 3D design professional.
There are more than 1,000 individual tutorial videos, and more are being added regularly. Some of the tutorials are free – but most require a subscription. You can purchase individual University subscriptions, or if you purchased Design 3D as a subscription the University is included.
A subscription to the University alone is $9.95/month – a very good value. You get the first two weeks for just 99¢, and you can cancel at ANY time. For the best value, a Design 3D CX subscription is only $19.95 a month – and this includes the University AND Premium Support (a $5.95 a month value) AND no-cost upgrades to Design 3D as long as you’re a subscriber.

I’m a beginner, where should I start?
For Design 3D CX 8 users, the first place to start is the Getting Started dialog accessed through the Help menu of the software. You can also access some of those same videos and tutorials here on the University, as well as other introductory videos, here.
You notice that most of the tutorials on the University are categorized by level – Introductory, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Just click on the category link in the menu to the left to find tutorials that are appropriate for your skill level.
You can also find project and theme based tutorial series’ in the Training Tracks section.
Will older tutorial videos be worth watching?
Though Design 3D has evolved and improved a great deal over the years, you’ll still find valuable techniques and tips in the older tutorials and projects. Don’t be afraid to dig a little deeper into the University.
Can I watch tutorial videos on an iPad, iPhone and Android device?
Yes, you can watch University tutorial videos on an iPad, iPhone and Android devices without using a third-party app. Just use the web browser on your portable device, log into your Strata.com account and find the tutorial you want to watch.
I subscribed, but still can’t access all the tutorials.
You must be logged into your Strata.com account in order to get access to the premium tutorials. If you have any questions, or you’re still having issues please contact storesupport@strata.com.
How do I update my payment information?
Log into your account a store.strata.com – go to Store – My Account – Purchase History. At the top of the list of purchases you will find a link to “Update Credit Card“. This link will direct you to a secure page for updating your credit card for your subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription?
If you have a University-only month-to-month subscription use the following steps (keep in mind that if you’re a Design 3D subscriber you’re getting the University as part of the same subscription – so following these steps will also cancel your Design 3D subscription!):
- Log into your Strata.com account on this page or here
- Go to the Strata.com Purchase History page
- Click on the “Cancel Subscription” link at the top of the purchase history links
I’m not getting my University receipts.
Your initial payment receipt email will come from sales@strata.com
All subscription payment receipt emails will be sent to you from stripe.com and will show “Strata Mixed Reality Inc.”.
You can also see a list of your purchases by logging into your account here at the University or in the Strata.com login here, then go to the Purchase History page (go to the menu item Store > My Account > Purchase History).
If you are not receiving your receipts it is possible that the receipts are going into your junk/spam folder. Be sure to:
- Check your junk/spam folder locally
- Check your online junk/spam folder (many mail services screen and trap spam on the server, and this e-mail can be viewed through their online webmail interface)
If the address NEEDS to be whitelisted, it’s likely that it’s in one of those two places. If you have your mail server set to delete flagged mail immediately, you may never see the email. In this case whitelisting the address will help.
