Making quick liquids inside glasses

It is one thing to model a glass or bottle, and another to create its contents. We will see how to create the liquid of lathed glasses.

Of course, we start with a lathed glass.

A simple lathed glass

We then copy and paste the glass. We now have two glasses in the same place. Select one and hide it (Cmd/Ctrl+3)

We now edit the profile we used for the glass and move and delete points to get our liquid.

Editing the profile. The glass on the left is just a reference

Move the base point to where we want the level of the liquid to be

Add a point where the level of the liquid touches the glass and delete all the unwanted points

We should have the profile of the liquid now

It is best to prevent both profiles from touching. Reveal the glass (Ctrl/Cmd+4) and in Outline shading, separate the liquid from the glass

That’s it. Now it is a matter of texturing the Glass and the liquid and we are set.
