This is a modeling tutorial series for beginners using Design 3D SE. It models a floor fan and is designed to show the capabilities of the limited functionality within the SE version, and to also help newer users understand the various processes involved in working with 3D.

MODELING
Part 1, Fan Case Go to tutorial
Part 1 models the fan case. It shows how to use the Extrude Normal tool, edge bridging and the object pivot. It also shows what subdivision surfaces is.
Part 2, Handle Go to tutorial
Part 2 models the handle. It shows how to use the Skin tool to bridge two bezier profiles which are then converted to a polygon mesh in order to generate a subdivision surface object. It also shows how to use the polygon Scale tool to mirror geometry across a grid.
Part 3, Fan Blades Go to tutorial
Part 3 models the fan blade. It demonstrates Shapes and Instances to replicate geometry.
Part 4, Lattice Covering Go to tutorial
Part 4 demonstrates nested Shapes and Instances to organize scene components.
