We will create an electron micrograph scene using a texture that has a Horizon embedded Background. In this case the modelling is pretty simple (some bacteria) and it uses no lights at all.
The scene setup is fairly easy: just set the directional light to construction.
The texture
The micrograph texture is dark gray one with an embedded reflection that is a Horizon Background in shades of green.
The texture’s Embedded Reflection interpolation is set to Cosine, but feel free to experiment with interpolation modes.
For doing bacteria, a noisy bump map from Photoshop was pasted.
That’s it. The electron micrograph is ready.
Of course, much fun can be had changing the environment colors, etc.
As always, let us know what you do with this technique!
