This tutorial shows how to model a quick drill bit using circles, conversion of objects into 2D Bézier regions, editing Bézier regions and the Skin tool.
The idea is to create the groove of the bit by doing an indentation on a modified circle and then replicating the object along the z-axis rotating it while replicating. Then, a skin is created and the bit is ready.
The video covers:
- Creating a circle
- Creating copies of the circle
- Converting a circle into a 2D Bézier region
- Editing the 2D region
- Replicating with z-axis offset and rotation
- Skinning
