This last step of applying a label to a wine bottle deals with the foil that goes in the neck of the bottle, covering the cork. It is a simple, stencilled texture.
The bottle with the full label looks like this:
This is the project file for that stage.
We’ll now create a new Image Texture for the neck of the bottle. We are going to create the white stencil map within Strata 3D.
First, we create a new Image Texture.
In the Stencil channel, we click the image thumbnail. Then we click on the Generate Map and select Image Generators>Solid Color…
We choose white as the color, and we have our stencil map.
Make sure the stencil map reveals Invisible.
The rest of the texture is red, very glossy, with an orange Specular Color, blurred reflections and very low smoothness.
The neck receives cylindrical mapping by default. This is good. We need to make sure the texture is repeated only once. We can do this as we did with the label, setting the x and y reps to 1, or choose tiling: none. The effect is the same.
The last part is positioning the neck in its proper place.
That is all. Our wine bottle is done.
From here, it is advisable to convert the bottle into a shape and reuse is as we see fit.
Happy wine bottle creation!
