PROJECT: Punching multiple holes in a slab

This project constructs a basic ‘slab’ object with ‘punched’ holes along the perimeter. It’s designed to show some basic polygon editing geared towards those new to Design3D and polygon modeling.

FOR BASIC TO INTERMEDIATE USERS

Part 1  Go to tutorial
This modeling tutorial for beginners shows how to punch small holes in a ‘slab’ using polygon modeling and boolean operations. It’s geared towards those new to Design 3D.
Part 2  Go to tutorial
This modeling tutorial for beginners shows a second method for ‘punching’ small holes in a ‘slab’ using polygon modeling and subdivision surfaces. It’s geared towards those new to Design 3D.
Part 3  Go to tutorial
This third part builds upon the geometry constructed in the second slab-with-holes tutorial. It goes into more advanced polygon editing in order to add an extrusion coming off the face of the object and reconnecting to the other wise. It specifically shows how to use the Lathe tool to generate geometry for the curved section of the extension.
