Case Studies
Case Study | A Virtual Fleet of Aircraft
Illustrating the world of flight can be a tremendous challenge. Photographs can be the wrong angle, low quality or simply not available. For the aviation enthusiasts that read the Greek magazine "Remove Before Flight" the visuals are just as important as the technical articles. As Art Director of 11 Aviation Publications, Nasos Vlachos turned to Strata Design 3D CX, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to solve the problem.
Case Study | A Market Bull's Eye for Kraft
What do you do when you get a new sauce? You get a new bottle of course. Starting in late 2007, Kraft's Bull's-Eye BBQ Sauce marketing team undertook an extensive review of the BBQ category and the BBQ consumer. In 2008 this hard work resulted in a killer new sauce. With superior taste and more authentic BBQ flavor, the team at Kraft went on to develop a new brand position to go with the new flavor. This required new packaging to bring all these elements together.
Case Study | Finding Just The Right Fit for Gatorade
Fitline, a Gatorade brand sold exclusively in Mexico, needed photorealistic product renderings for an all-new package design targeting active, health-conscious women. 3D designer Norberto Calderon of Five Seconds turned to Strata Design 3D CX to calibrate the bottles' translucent liquids, colors and reflections until the renderings were indistinguishable from a photograph, helping the brand win approval before a single bottle was produced.
Case Study | Picking Up Spirits at Ralphs
When Diageo, the world's largest spirits and wine producer, partnered with Ralphs/Kroger to reinvent its spirits retail experience, they turned to design firm Linear SC. Designer Dave Wohlner used Strata 3D tools alongside pencil sketches and Adobe software to rapidly visualize concepts, helping the team move from rough ideas to an approved, in-store point-of-sale program that both clients loved.
Case Study | Judging Books by Their Covers
Barnes & Noble asked design studio eklektos to give a series of brain-game books a bolder, more dynamic look. 3D designer Edward Tuttle used Strata Design 3D CX alongside Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to push the puzzles into three dimensions, delivering vibrant, motion-filled covers that met the client's demand for brighter colors and clearer shelf appeal.
Case Study | Dream Home Realized in 3D
To help the Averill family visualize a multi-million dollar dream home on Lake Coeur d'Alene before a single wall was built, designer Jon C. of PEC, Inc. brought architectural CAD files into Strata Design 3D. Using Strata's hierarchical modeling and HDRI lighting, he produced photo-real renderings that let the family fine-tune every material and detail from afar.
Case Study | Walgreens Impulse Camera
When Walgreens wanted to take a budget digital camera from shelf item to a full point-of-purchase promotion, sourcing firm Atico International turned to Strata 3D CX. Designer Jeff Rodriguez modeled and rendered new color options for the camera and matching bag in just three days, winning client approval in time to hit stores.
