Using a combination of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator – along with all of the Adobe Creative Suite – the Strata toolset can be used to create images, web content, packaging and a point-of-purchase displays for products of all shapes and sizes.   Checkout these slides to see how Ungowa was brought into 3D and packaged up!

Ungowa is one of the characters from the Tikimon universe, developed by Mezco Toyz. This overview shows how the Strata tools can be used to take an existing product, connect it to the Adobe Creative Suite, and produce content for the full breadth of marketing and packaging tasks.

Ungowa was captured using Strata Foto 3D CX with the help of Adobe Photoshop. Using a standard digital camera or smartphone – and a series of photos, Foto 3D was able to generate the 3D form and surface textures of Ungowa.     Once Ungowa was in digital form he was ready to help out with other projects such as: sizing for individual packaging in a “blister pack” with Strata Design 3D CX; visualization in a point-of-purchase display; and doing duty in websites and PDF documents – and even going into VR and AR with Strata inStudio VR to see Ungowa in context – as if you were standing in the store and seeing the in-store presentation before a single die cut is made.

Using Adobe Illustrator and the Strata tools, a folding point-of-purchase display was created for counter-top display. The POP display was then used in Strata Design 3D CX where it was populated with the Foto 3D captured Ungowa toy. The POP display was then set into a scene with convenience store style shelving and rendered to layers. The layered rendering was then brought into Photoshop for finishing.

With Ungowa captured using Strata Foto 3D CX, the blister-pack was created using Adobe Illustrator, Strata Design 3D and Adobe Photoshop. To create the card-back and basic blister back elements, outlines were created in Illustrator then imported into Strata Design 3D CX. Using Design 3D’s modeling tools these outlines were then made three-dimensional. The final rendering was then brought into Photoshop for combining with the background image.
