Creating twisted iron
This modeling tutorial shows how to create a twisted iron model, something similar to what would be seen in a twisted iron fence or railing. The first section shows the basic approach, the second shows how to also generate usable UV’s.

When we first discussed this project on the Strata cafe forums, I recommended doing this model in a different way. Because I would almost certainly have done this differently (due to a lock of patience on my part), I wanted to demonstrate my method, as a companion to these videos. My approach is demonstrated in a video here https://www.strata.com/2012/05/a-fast-twisted-bar-model/
make that a “lack” of patience on my part. 😉
